Australia’s My Aged Care Services
Australia’s Aged Care Services is a range of services that support older people with their daily living and other needs. The services are funded by the Australian Government and can be provided at home, in the community or in care homes. The Elderly Care Act 1997 and associated Care Acts provide the legal framework for funding and regulating care for the elderly.
Home Care Packages within Aged Care Services
Home Care Packages (HCP) offer different levels of care tailored to individual needs and the ability to create a care plan tailored to their needs. Aged care services cover Australians aged 65 and over (and Indigenous Australians aged 50 and over) who can no longer live without care. These services may include assistance with daily chores and activities, home maintenance and alterations, respite care, and access to social services.
Home Care Packages (HCP) are a way for older Australians to get affordable home care services for day-to-day help. HCPs are for people with more complex care needs, beyond what the Commonwealth Home Support Program can provide.
